About the Author
Robyn Roche-Paull, BS: MCH, IBCLC, LLLL
Robyn Roche-Paull, with over a decade of experience helping breastfeeding mothers and babies, began her breastfeeding career while on active duty in the US Navy.  She served six years as an aircraft mechanic on F/A-18 Hornets and A-6 Intruders on deployment overseas and stateside.  During that time she birthed her eldest son and breastfed him for over a year before separating from the military with an Honorable discharge.  As part of a sea-going squadron, and working in an all-male shop, Robyn fought many battles to secure her right to pump and provide her breastmilk to her son.  Between flight schedules, maintenance needs, watchstanding and deployments, her son never had a drop of formula.

Part of her success at combining breastfeeding and active duty military service stems from the support she received from her local La Leche League group.  Upon her discharge from the Navy, Robyn went onto become an Accredited Leader and has been an active La Leche League Leader for over 10 years.  She currently leads with the Virginia Beach LLL Group, and is also the Area Professional Liaison for the Virginia/West Virginia area.

Robyn returned to school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Maternal Child Health from Union Institute and University in 2006, and in that same year she also earned her IBCLC certification. Robyn has worked as a private practice IBCLC with Tidewater Lactation Group, and with the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) New Parent Suport Program.  She is a member of La Leche League International (LLLI), International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA), United States Lactation Consultant Association (USLCA), and the Tidewater Lactation Consultants Association (TALCA).

Robyn's motivation to write her book and create this website stems from the difficulties she experienced breastfeeding her first born while on active duty, but also simply a desire to help other military mothers be successful at breastfeeding so that they may experience the fulfillment and joy that breastfeeding has to offer both mother and child.

Robyn currently lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia with her husband of 16 years, a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy, and her three breastfed children. They have all been breastfed beyond 2 years as recommended by the World Health Organization and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
